Description

Lagrein is a premium red grape variety grown in the dolomitic alps of North East Italy. At di Lusso Estate, we have two small blocks of this quite rare grape, around three acres of fruit. Planted in 2004 and yielding around three tons of fruit each season.

As a young wine, Lagrein carries favours of cherries and black plum, amid lively acidity. With age, spicy aromas emerge above the fruit, with notes of liquorice that provides a good match for rich meat stews.
